  2. What is the cost of constructing a new home?

    An essential question!
    The cost of a new house is influenced by many things. The amount you invest is influenced by trees, slopes, soil conditions, distance from the road, and other land considerations. The intricacy of the design, the size of the home, the size of the garage, porches, and other outdoor living areas all have an impact on your investment. The quality of the interior and exterior finishes, as well as the accessories, all have a considerable influence on the cost.

    Every Weir Home Building project is personalized, and may range in price from $450,000 to $2,000,000 and more. This may seem a wide range, but every client will have a spending plan and can appreciate our ability to create a plan and scope of work to match their financial goal, all while never sacrificing quality workmanship by skilled craftsmen.

  3. How long does it take to build a custom home?

    Every custom home is unique, and the construction of larger homes or complex locations may take up to 10 months. More straightforward builds may take less time, but, several things come into play, including an effective design process (during which you will make decisions on each element of your home), permit acquisition, site development, and, of course, building, will all affect the completion date.

  4. Do you "subcontract"?

    Yes, we subcontract. Our Trade Team members are as important to us as our clients. Some of our Trade Team coworkers have been with us for more than 25 years and our employees for an average of over 10 years. We are their number one builder, and they are our number one trade team member. We couldn't have done it without them. We trust them with your home because we’d trust them with our own!

  5. What material choices are available to us for our new home-building project?

    We collaborate with local merchants who provide excellent-quality materials, wonderful customer service and all at reasonable prices. As we design your project, you'll be given a list of our suppliers, their showrooms, plus deadlines to make your choices. You will be able to complete and confirm your option selections at any point during the project. The majority of these suppliers, have been with us almost as long as our Trade Team Members. We also have specialists that can help you with your choices.

  6. How do I arrange financing to build my home?

    The majority of the clients at Weir Home Building (about 70%) arrange financing by speaking with local banks and financial institutions who specialize in providing low-cost building loans. Others prefer to self-finance their custom build.

    When financing, your first step will be talking to a lender to determine a working budget that fits your needs. Once you know you can secure those funds, then you move on to the Project Design and Development Process with Weir Building – Custom Homes & Remodeling.

    You will receive all the needed construction paperwork, for finalization with your lender, once the contract is signed.
