  1. What is the cost of constructing a new home?

    An important question! 
    The cost of a new house is influenced by a number of things including (but not limited to):
         - Trees
         - Lot conditions such as slopes, soil conditions, building location.
         - Environmental footprint
         - Distance from the road, site access and utilities
         - Size and intricacy of design, single level, multi-storied
         - Outbuildings, garages, attachments such as porches
         - Outdoor living areas, pools, landscaping
         - Interior and exterior finish choices and quality
         - Trendiness of design, classic versus one-of-a-kind selections
         - Even accessories, all have a considerable influence on the cost of construction

    Our projects range from $450,000 to $2,000,000 and above, depending on the conditions listed above, and more. 
    Because of the diversity of choices, and specialized nature of a custom-build home it is impossible to provide a generalized cost. But, every one of our clients has a budget, and they value our ability to match their budgets with their desires and needs. They also understand the significance of having their home designed and built with the highest care and skill. We promise we won’t let you down.
     
  2. How long will it take to complete the project?

    The majority of our custom home builds take about 10 months to finish. 
    We'd love to get them to you sooner, but we will work with you to establish realistic expectations. Time frames can be impacted by the size and complexity of the build itself, but weather, existing supply chain issues, and other variables which also play a part in that completion date, and are beyond our control. We will however always do our best to meet our goals.

  3. What product options are available to us during the home-building process?

    We work with local merchants who provide us with high-quality products at reasonable prices and excellent service. During project planning you'll receive a list of these suppliers and their showrooms, as well as deadlines for making and confirming those decisions and any option selections. Most of our suppliers, like our ‘Trade Team Members’, have been with us for a long time, and they will help you in your selections.

  4. Do you use "subcontractors"?

    All of our ‘Trade Team members’ are incredibly vital to us. Some have worked for us for more than 25 years and all have been with us for an average of more than ten years. They are our #1 Trade Member, and we are their #1 Builder. We couldn't have done it without them, and we trust them with our clients home as if it was our own.

  5. Is it necessary to obtain a building loan or finance?

    Before coming to us, approximately 70% of our clients speak first with local financial institutions specializing in low-cost building loans to finance their custom home build. (The other 30% finance their own home build project).
    Before you begin the Project Design and Development Process, we strongly recommend that you consult with one of these local lenders to ensure that you will have a budget figure in mind, and the funds available, for your new home. After signing with Weir Building – Custom Homes & Remodeling, you will receive all of the necessary construction papers you’ll need for your lender to finalize your financing.
